RITUALS | WILD FLOWER BATHS

Rituals bring a meditative state to our day, a sense of ceremony to life. The beauty is in the simplicity, becoming aware of the present moment and that we are always connected.

By introducing rituals into our daily routine, we will see shifts in our consciousness, perspective, patience and more. They keep us feeling grounded and aligned. They may be testing at times because they require us to slow down but, just when we think we’ve surrendered enough, we must surrender more.

Wild flowers are truly symbolic. Spending time amongst wild flowers, watching their growth, the opening and closing of their buds, how they sway in the wind, we can learn a lot from them and the great stillness, strength and beauty of each individual flower.

When we want to take something from the earth, from mother nature, we should give an offering back to her to show that we understand and respect the loving, reciprocal relationship that we share with her. If you have any ground coffee beans, grains, chocolate, seeds or something that you would like to offer, pack it up and take them with you.

Go on a walk to the woods or a forest nearby, be aware of your surroundings and keep an open heart. Pick the wildflowers that you feel the most drawn to and before you pick them, give thanks, dig up some soil and put your offering into the ground.

Draw a hot bath (the water should cover your shoulders), you can drop salts or/and a couple of drops of essential oils in. Delicately peel the layers off the wildflower, petal by petal and place them in the bath and prepare for a soothing soak filled with colourful flowers and floral scents.

Once you are in the bath, think about what you would like to let go of or set an intention, relax and enjoy for a minimum of 10 minutes. When you are ready to get out, pull the plug and allow the water to drain out completely before getting out. This can symbolise different things depending on what you wanted to get out of it, i.e draining away whatever it was you wanted to let go, shedding skin or powerfully manifesting your intention/s.
