SAHARA DESERT JOURNEY HIGHLIGHTS
In a place where the nothingness can give you so much, sand dunes that seem to stretch beyond the edges of the Earth and camels that can carry you for days on end. They say the most effective way to connect to yourself is to connect to nature. A desert without distractions, this place provides the ultimate venue for detoxifying and recalibrating the entire mind, body, and spirit.
The Sahara Desert is a destination that transports you to an era long gone. Reverts you back to a much simpler time that supports in connecting you deeper to culture, customs, people and place. Home to Sahara Bedouin, Tuareg Nomadic tribes. Steeped in astrological, ancestral, shamanistic and spiritual journeying practices. Creates a powerful sense of silence and stillness that supports in a transcendent and restorative journey of self healing and self discovery.
Utilising nature’s elements of solar and wind power, this desolate destination has more going on than one would think. Spend the day at a Saharan sand bath, as they teach you how to use the sand for its healing properties. For the more adventurous traveler, explore the local Bedouin villages, or sit around a campfire as you spend the evening stargazing. No matter the situation, there is always somewhere to play in this adult sandbox.
Dependent on whether the Merzouga Desert is the start or end of your Moroccan journey, it will be by far one of the most inspiring memories you will ever have the pleasure of experiencing . We always recommend the drive with stops in-between, due to the incredible landscape you will experience and the culturally historical stories our well trained in-house local insider will share.
Enjoy a beautiful sunset with a toast to celebrate your arrival, followed by a traditional Bedouin meal, cooked in the earth just like they would have done and still do till today. While you listen to incredible Saharan tales and live tribal music, understanding the Bedouin way of life and the history of the people over a campfire. You slowly start to realise that you haven’t experienced anything like this before and probably won’t ever experience it again.

Arrive at the mouth of the Desert and be greeted by awaiting Camels and Bedouin men to escort you on the last leg of what has been a long but awe-inspiring day.
Experience how the Saharan people would have travelled though the Desert before arriving at the exquisite Desert Camp, with just enough time to freshen up before sunset and that’s when the fun begins.

Day 2
Wake up to an incredible desert sunrise, spend a leisurely morning experiencing your surroundings. While your afternoon can be enjoyed immersing in a series of activities from sand boarding to tea with nomads, cooking classes to camel rides.
In the evening Your personal astrologer will then take you to an incredible private area, where the sky truly meets the Desert, which has been prepared exclusively for you to enjoy the awesomeness that our solar system has to offer. You will be given an open air immersive understanding about sub- Saharan nomadic tribes, Berbers, Touaregs and Bedouin mythologies and beliefs in relation the sky. Followed by a fun sky observation using binoculars and telescope.
Day two digs deeper into the discovery of the Planets Saturn and Jupiter, the constellations of the Big Dipper, Little Dipper and Cassiopeia, Milky Way and the Polar Star. You may even be able to identify stars like Arcturus, Aldebaran, Alderamine, Vega, Altair, Sirius, Rigel. Seeing a falling star in the Desert is almost as likely as spotting a Camel. Meteor discovery is also a frequent occurrence.
This once in a life time experience provides the ultimate opportunity to truly connect with yourself and our universe. Align your trip with astrological events to elevate the already magical experience.
Day 1
Depart at 6:00am with your private driver and luxury vehicle from Marrakech, Fes or Casablanca to embark on what will be a transformative journey.
Take in the sites along the way, dependent on your departure destination, the drive time ranges from 6-10 hours in length. Scheduled stops are programmed within the most picturesque nomadic towns and villages. Allowing you to better understand the various tribes that have inhabited the Sahara Desert.
Arrive at the Luxury Desert Camp, take some time to freshen up and explore, head over to your private spot amidst the dunes to enjoy a beautiful sunset with a toast to celebrate your arrival, followed by a traditional Bedouin candle light dinner on the dunes cooked in the earth just like they would have done and still do today.
End the evening immersed with your Saharan Astrologer, unlocking a private spot amidst the dunes prepared just for you to connect to the cosmos. Followed by Saharan tales and live tribal music, understanding the Bedouin way of life and the history of the people over a campfire. You slowly start to realise that you haven’t experienced anything like this before and probably won’t ever experience it again.
Day 3
Wake up to your final Saharan sunrise, use these final moments to take in the utter splendour, peace, tranquility, stillness and silence this place possesses. Perhaps start the day with a mindful meditation or yoga session that really grounds and connects you to this rich landscape. Before departing at 10:00am.

CCT was designed to blur the lines between travel and supporting communities in the places you travel to, every time you travel with us - either through our Travel Design service, Culturally Connected Experiences or Wellness Activations, we donate a % directly from our own pockets to a local project, charity or community in that destination in addition to planting trees to offset each travellers carbon footprint.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Two nights 3 Days at a Luxury Desert Camp in the heart of the Sahara Desert in Morocco based on double occupancy throughout your Journey. Private travel for all day trips and included excursions; arrival and departure transfers based on the same pickup and drop off city; private tours with local guides/insiders and cultural experts outlined in the itinerary; guided activities, artisan discoveries and programmed, adventures and expeditions; daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners; non-alcoholic beverages with meals.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Roundtrip airfare; travel insurance; activities not included in the trip itinerary; hotel incidentals including room service, laundry service and hotel bar tabs; food and beverages not included in itinerary; gratuity for guides/insiders and artisans.
WHERE DOES THE TRIP START AND END?
Our adventure begins in either Marrakech, Casablanca or Fes. Dependent on where you have organised your other Moroccan adventure, we will align to pick you up from any of these 3 cities. Roundtrip transfers are applicable only when pickup and drop off city are the same. Pickup time on Day 1 is 6:00 AM. Departure time from the Sahara Desert is 10:00 AM on Day 3.

WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED?
If you are a Non-Moroccan Citizen travelling to Morocco, visit your local Moroccan Consulate or Embassy for requirements and information about passports and visas. If a visa is required and you need assistance, our team is on hand to help. Please do reach out.
6. DO I NEED TO PAY A SOLO TRAVELLER SUPPLEMENT?
All accommodation is based on double occupancy. For solo travellers who wish to embark on this Journey, the price remains the same.
7. WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellations made 120+ Days prior to trip start date will receive a full refund minus a £500 service fee. If you cancel between 61 – 119 days prior to trip a 50% cancellation fee applies. On or after 60 days prior to trip, there is a 100% cancellation fee. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance as we are not able to make exceptions to this policy in cases of family/medical emergency or cases of the trip being cancelled (See our Terms and Conditions for full details).
8. WHAT IF I AM BOOKED ON A TRIP THIS YEAR AND HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT TRAVELLING?
For any guest booked on a Consciously Connected Travel trip, traveling in 2020, if you are not able to travel, we are offering trip credits. This allows you to transfer 100% of your booking value to an alternate date within 12 months of original Journey departure date.
9. WHAT IS CONSCIOUSLY CONNECTED TRAVEL’S TRANSFER POLICY?
A transfer request must be submitted at least 90 days prior to the original Journey departure date. All transfers and credit allocations are final and non-refundable.
10. WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
To give you more flexibility, we are offering trip transfers with 100% of your booking credited to an alternate date. Otherwise the terms of our cancellation policy are as follows:
More than 120 days prior to original departure: Cancel your booking and receive a full refund (minus a £500 per-person service fee)
Between 119 and 61 days prior to original departure: Cancel your booking and receive a 50% refund
Within 60 days of the original departure: 100% non-refundable
