MEET JESSICA MALLOCK

Shaman and Artist

Jessie studied a BA in  Critical Fine Art Practice at Central St Martins Art college, London and an MA in Photography at London College of Communication, After a back operation she followed a path of body work, becoming a practitioner of TRE ( tension, stress and trauma releasing exercises) and learnt energy work through Shamanism. She is on the teaching Team with Spirit of the Inca, bringing Shamanic practices from Peru to the West. She is also a mother of three children and has worked as a nanny for many year, so the gift of nurturing is innate. Throughout her life she has sustained a thriving art practice and it is now as her children leave home that she is drawing together her many skills and creating a modality that fuses Art and Shamanism. This movement between expressions is creating a new way of not only making art, but healing, growing, restoring and releasing through art. This is what she is now teaching to others.

Art and Play | Release your creativity through Art, Shamanism, Meditation and Nature Connection

Art has a way of transporting us all back to a child like state. A time less complicated, undisturbed by mental chatter, A time that our minds and bodies moved freely, unafraid, intensely curious without limitation. The shadows that we have fostered as adults can often feel like our biggest burdens. We appear to have developed an array of limiting beliefs and thought patterns, our journeys, environments and experiences have etched away at us, causing a lot more second guessing of self, restriction of freewill and freethinking, prioritising what we class as “adulting” regardless of whether it speaks to us or the child within. Many of us have forgotten what it feels like to just play, be creative, paintbrush to paper and let our hearts and subconscious lead us, not our minds.

Art and Play therapy has been a method primarily used to support children in working through traumatic experiences without the need for words. Using the opportunity to share what lays within through the motions and creations that end up on the paper. This form of therapy is profound with what it helps to trigger, without us even realising. A gentle form of therapy that leans in to the light, the playful and the joy within you. Teamed with deep journeying through meditation and Shamanic practice, unlocks a world of self-understanding.

Jessie believes that we all have a unique creative potential and when it comes together with dreaming, curiosity and courage we can create a more sustainable world. We literally can dream up amazing ways of living on this earth in harmony. When we each unlock our creativity we also become happier, more fulfilled and able to move more freely with each other and ourselves and in nature. Imagine a world where we could all tap into our childlike sense of wonder, playfulness and creativity along with the guiding parents of ourselves our inner wisdom.
